Novplasta at Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2025

The use of recycled plastics has become one of the defining topics in today’s packaging industry. At Novplasta, we actively follow and support global trends toward more sustainable packaging materials — both out of conviction and responsibility. That’s why we were proud to participate in the Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2025 in Amsterdam.

Tracking Global Trends in Plastic Recycling

This major event offered valuable insights into both global and European trends in plastic recycling. In light of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), there is a noticeable increase in the demand for materials made from post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR) — plastics recovered after consumer use.

As a European manufacturer committed to environmental values, Novplasta is eager to integrate these developments into our production processes. Today, all Novplasta products are already 100% recyclable, reflecting our dedication to sustainability and circularity.

Focus on Quality and Innovation

During the event, we explored the latest plastic waste processing technologies, the quality of recycled materials, and their potential in packaging applications. The success of any packaging film made from recycled materials depends largely on the quality of the input recyclate.

In addition to physical properties such as strength and transparency, our focus also extends to the technical challenges of processing post-consumer recyclate (PCR).

It’s worth noting that Novplasta has been using recycled materials for many years — primarily industrial or technological recyclate, produced directly during manufacturing. However, attention is now shifting to PCR recyclate, derived from post-consumer plastic waste. The goal is clear: to reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills or incinerators, and to move from a linear to a circular economy.

A Growing Demand for Recycled Materials

The growing demand for recycled materials shows that the entire plastic waste processing chain is accelerating. Packaging manufacturers are setting the pace and demonstrating that the industry can successfully transition to more sustainable solutions through collaboration and innovation.

Research, Development, and Future Goals

Looking ahead, Novplasta plans to expand its research and development efforts, focusing on the selection and testing of high-quality recyclates. New formulations and product lines are already in the pipeline, designed to meet both market demands and regulatory requirements.

At Novplasta, we take pride in being part of these positive changes — contributing actively to sustainable values and solutions that benefit not only the packaging industry but the planet as a whole.
